cuz someone who calls themselves King isn't conceited or anything. No one should have let him use that nickname cuz it obviously showed what kind of ego he has

^Not when he gave himself a nickname like that!
Side note, Raps taking another step back as they'll be looking to hire a new GM after Colangelo couldn't do what he promised. This team is a joke, I don't blame Bosh for leaving to go to Miami.

^It's odd, because overall, compared to other future hall of fame, multiple-ring superstar, flashy dressers, I find Wade to be generally humble.

^ No one should EVER give himself a nickname, a nickname MUST come from someone else.
WOW... Way of Wade? Seriously Dwyane? Even teammate King Lebron dismissed this, must have been a humbling experience for Dwyane. |

Yeah, I really expected memphis to have a better defensive response to Spurs scoring. They played OKC so tight. That is what experience and coaching can do for you.

strong opener for the spurs but i still think memphis can take this series. spurs arent going to shoot like that every game and z bo is going to score more than 2 points...

I didn't know about him making a nickname for himself, haha. I think it's SUPER sad when ppl have to make their own nicknames. Talk about desperate publicity stunts, aka lebron, snopp dogg/tiger/kitty/lion w/e. Sounds stupid that's all I know

You're not the only one. I get the same feeling about Wade. I just think that he misses the spot light. Remember when he tried to make a "cool" nickname for himself. WOW didn't catch on at all. |

Kareem Abdul Jabbar put on twitter that Memphis would take the whole thing. I hope he's right cuz I don't want the Heat to win. Something about Wade rubs me the wrong way

I do agree that Melo is a ball hog. That's why everyone knew he was gonna run Lin outta the city when he got back. Melo denied it, but that's EXACTLY what happened when Melo came back. The team got rid of Lin and now the team isn't winning with a fast pick and roll game. I hope Knicks never win anymore for siding with Melo

Things are definitely going to get tougher for the Heat. Pacers play big and those teams give the Heat "trouble" than other styles ("trouble" being a relative term). If the Heat get past the Pacers, the Grizz / Spurs will present the same issues.

Pacers are really the only team in the east to compete with the Heat. But their FT% needs to improve if they're to have any chance.

i think the grizz will take the next round. knicks are going to have a hard time today back at indy. if hill still isnt cleared to play i think they could scrape through with another one but if hes in, i think its all over. |

a lot of ppl wrote them off against the spurs. the spurs do not look that hot, especially after the series they had against gs. I don't think they deserve to go on compared to gs

^Agreed the Western conference is going to have a lot of excitement come playoff time. Lots of young teams with talent and a lot of other teams with experienced veterans. Good coaching all around. It's going to be good. I hope the Blazers don't win a game, so they can draft Andrew Wiggins in 2014.

The Warriors had a great run and had a better season than most people expected before it started. They have a bunch of young budding stars that can only get better with experience: Steph, Clay, and Harrison. With a healthy David Lee next season, they'll be interesting in the playoffs again.
The Spurs/Grizzlies series is going to be very close. Both teams like to play slow half-court offense with a lot of focus on defense. I might be pretty boring for the average person because neither team are highlight reel material.
Knicks won to stay alive..but I think they won't be taking game 7.

they will definitely be back there next year, theres a lot of potential in that team. i've been so impressed with barnes, hes probably been the standout player for me throughout the whole playoffs. he didnt have a huge season but hes really stepped up for the warriors in these 2 series, it was a shame he got hurt and didnt get to finish the game yesterday

I guess I didn't either but it just felt so promising after the first 2 games. We blew that first game and that would've been huge. but great season warriors, I'm excited for next year, come back stronger |

Looks like the Knicks still have a bit of fight in them left. But that's not saying much as both teams shooting % was just ugly! Knicks got lucky that's all.

It seemed like GS switched to a bit of a zone in the waning minutes, as the Spurs had players open on both corners of 3-pt land. Parker had had a cruddy shooting day until they left him wide open, then he found his groove and despite only a 13-pt performance, was kinda the nail in the coffin. Every time the Warriors were battling back, BOOM, another 3 and the crowd was hushed. Awesome display by the crowd showing support for their team after being defeated. They're a super young group, and have some key players that could really grow together quite nicely. Reminds me a bit of OKC a year ago, minus the salary cap issues. |

I didn't expect the W's to beat the Spurs.
Two wins against the playoff Spurs is plenty good. W's will have a great team going into next season. |

Agreed - Curry was THE breakout star of the playoffs and Barnes and Thompson seemed to really find their niche. If Lee heals well, they should have a nice team going forward.

Nice try by the warriors. They have a nice future ahead of them. Especially if they can stay healthy. They have a legit star in curry and the team is relevant again.

that gs/sa game was close till the last 2 min. gs just fell apart with their defense playing really lazy like the game they lost with Manu's game winning shot. Curry and Clay threw up a 3 each and rimmed in and out. Bad luck? dunno. Too bad it didn't go 7 games. I liked watching gs

Carl kept letting the Spurs rain 3's in the last 3 min. wtf, where is the defense?? I only saw the last 5 min of the game so this whole post is about the last 5 min. From what I saw, I totally blame Carl Landry's poor defense for the loss of this game. Giving up 3 three pointers in the last 1.5 min of the game without scoring is definitely not worthy of a trip to the next round

i hope youre right, they need them both to be on and although thompson has made some big time shots down the stretch in the last couple of games, he hasnt put up big numbers since that breakout game.

OKC didn't have enough scorers and made it easier for Mephis to play defense. Westbrook was out and they didn't have Hardin this year. Kevin Martin and others needed to step up, and they didn't. So the Grizzlies could just focus on Durant and not thave to worry too much about the other 4 people on the court. Derek Fisher showed his age...
I feel bad for the Bulls. They have a good team and should have been able to make their series with the Heat more interesting and a lot closer. But, they just had too many injuries and Derek Rose not willing to play. Hard to win in the playoffs when your season-long bench warmers have to play extensive minutes.

Yeah this is why NBA playoff basketball can be a little boring at times...too predictable. It is nice to see some fresh blood turning up. Hopefully the Warriors can pull it off and then you would have a Grizzlies/Warriors west final. Who would have predicted that.

I don't see pacer's making it. But that might turn some more heads to watch and see who is the best team if it isn't the Heat.
The parallel is definitely there between Durant/OKC and Lebron/CAVS. The main difference, is that the Thunder are playing a team right now that does everything right on defense. I think OKC with just durant would be walking over Golden state right now, and probably the spurs. I do wonder if the team is going to be dominant when Westbrook is back, or if Durant is going to try to recruit another star like D Wade did.

A lot of people are making the point that OKC with just Durant is a lot like Lebron when he was on the Cavs. I think some of the OKC players played admirably, but the guys that needed to take it to the absolute next level (Ibaka and Martin) didn't provide enough help for Durant. I was watching last night and Durant was getting triple teamed every time he took one dribble, then came down the other end and guarded Marc Gasol. Tough matchups all the way around.

they did a good job wrapping up durant, he was triple teamed a lot of the time so its no wonder he struggled shooting. westbrook was the missing piece however i think reggie jackson deserves some credit throughout these playoffs, hes played pretty well considering how much pressure he was under stepping into that point guard position.

Westbrook's injury and Durant's inability to hit a big time shot tonight were the death of OKC. It was a good showing despite the injuries, but Memphis showed up hungrier. Lowest seeded team since like 95 to reach the semis!

thought it was going to be another game 2 blow out at the start there but they let it get away from them. solid 4th quarter to bring it home. cole going at both boozer and noah with the lefty slam was awesome. hopefully the knicks can drag out their series a while longer and bang each other up a bit in the process.

Looks like Bulls - Pacers next round in the East.

Arguable that the game last night still wasn't exciting for Spurs fans, just soothing to see them execute great and GS not shoot the lights out.
