Hey guys & gals,
I've been snowboarding for many years but I thought I'd try skiing again... Could I get a few suggestions on some "budget" skis I won't cry about if I wreck on rocks, etc while I goof off attempting to relearn how to ski? I wear a 11 mens boot ( average... i wear 10-11 depending on brand) by RIDE board boots are 11's I'm 150lbs and 5' 7" Seeing as a bunch of stuff is on sale I thought I'd ask for some help spending some money :o |

Honestly bro your best bet would be to see if anything is available from a local shop used. If you have truly not been in years this will be your best chance to test some tech that you may not be familiar with, and see if you like it before you buy some new gear.

Point... Unfortunately the closest mountain is around 6.5 - 7 hours away from me :(
What should I look for as far as the rental stuff...? |

Most mountains have demo gear. If you're not super serious and just want to try it out again, then the rental equipment should be fine.
Or find some buddies and maybe you can borrow their stuff!

I think asking for ski advice on a snowboard forum wont get you too far. When I worked a season in Japan I wanted to pick back up skiing for a while and had no idea where to start. The shops are very helpful. Boot fitting is very important when it comes to skiing so you would definitely would like someone who has a bit of knowledge to fit you up.
