I'm curious about this as well. I got a hero2 last year and just have a small collection of footage and nothing to edit it with. Is coineform what gopro has on their website?
Also for you experienced people, what would be the minimum set up in a new comply you would recommend for video editing? |

I just use windows movie maker or whatever the free one is that comes with Windows. I haven't done anything over the top, but it is pretty easy to use for basic video editing.
BTW Nice pickup on the camera. I am on the original HD Hero, and still enjoying it. Just got a wifi backpack for christmas, cant wait to give that a try on the mountain. |

I tried using the movie maker and it always comes out bad. Maybe my computer is the sucky part of the equation.

Both, probably. RAM helps you edit quicker and less laggy, but WMM is absolutely awful. |

+ one on Windows movie maker. Editing HD videos is extremely taxing on RAM.
Tips? Don't shoot all the time, try and only film stuff you want. Get more ram. Be patient, drag your videos into Movie Maker and let it sit for an hour til it's done prepping them. |

I tried upgrading to the max ram(4gb) that my comp can hold but I am pretty sure it made no difference. the thing is like 6 years old so maybe I will not be doing any editing until a new comp is purchased haha.

If your computer is that out of date, editing on any software may be very difficult. I tried on a 4 year old laptop computer designed for solid modeling and it wasn't having anything to do with HD video editing. Bought a new computer and upgraded to 8 gig ram and haven't really had any issues.

I'm looking into some comps now, trying to decide if I want to venture into the mac world and if I should get a dual or quad core. Too many options these days.

Use iMovie if you got it, you're not gonna find a better software for anything less than $500, it isn't perfect but it works.

I also use iMovie and I like the turn out of the videos. Question about the Black GoPro tho, After I turn it on, it sometimes turns off after like 7 seconds, Does anyone else have that happen?

adobe premier pro C6 is what i use. Don't be daunted by the price tag. Depending on how you feel about it, it can easily be torrented or downloaded all over the place. It's pretty powerful stuff
