I'm putting together my first board kit and I've read the need for lace protectors on the back boot when using it to support the board when riding the lifts. I've been searching all over the place and I don't seem to really find any that aren't on ebay, is this normal?
Anyone have any suggestions on where to get these elusive lace protectors?

I've never heard of these and I don't think that you really need them. If you feel the need to support your board you should just use the toe of your boot and wrap it around the back of the binding that way you won't cut it up at all.

Some boots have a small rubber tube surrounding the lace (my burton moto have them) or you can try making your own. I really never tried looking for these because some boots come with extra laces. Also, I don't rest my board on my boot, instead I rest the back of the binding (heel part of the binding that sticks out) on my boot instead of resting the snowboard on my boot.
EDIT: GAHHHH. I tried wording it so it wouldn't be confusing to read and it took me 10 minutes. haha, but yeah, same with the person above. |

Lace protectors are not necessary. If you really, really want it, you can make a DIY protector by sleeving the lace in heatshrink or rubber tube, but it will just make it harder to tighten or loosen the lace.

You really dont need that... Laces are what 5 bucks max? Ive been wearing the same boots for 3 years, my laces arent fraying at all. Why waste money on something so unnecessary? Wont make your riding better, wont make you more comfortable, wont make something last longer. not worth the price... dont worry about it go shred.
