I am pretty new to snowboarding, I think this will be only my second full season. I ride a 2010 Custom V rocker with est cartel bindings and have the stance set free ride.
I notice the my front of front foot gets really sore after only a run or two. Could it be my stance or how I am turning? |

Could be a few things: - toe strap too tight? -boots that don't fit properly -can i ask your stance angles? -you could just be tightening your boots too much at the front? Ton's of possible things. Does the pain go away after the first few runs? |

what angles are your bindings set at? freeride doesn't mean much to me... could be your stance.. doubt its how you're turning.. could also be an improper fit on that particular boot...which part of your foot hurts?
edit: like azn dan said.. straps might need to be adjusted on the front binding if they are causing pressure points... make sure when you are strapped in the strap portion itself is centered on your boot... ie equal distance from each end of the strap down to the binding itself. |

I think I am at 15 and 6, but will take a look when I get home. The pain is on the front side of my front foot. I do strap in as tight as I can. The straps are centered.
Thank you! |

ease up on your straps.. you should be able to tighten them down to where your foot isn't moving without wrenching on it as far as it will go... without seeing everything in person its pretty difficult to assess.

You would be blinded by my lack of skills :)
I do crank my straps as tight as I can get them, I will try to ease em up. |

I used to have bad front foot pain on the other side of my foot. It was due to my angle of my bidding being too low. I went from 15 to a 25.
Don;t know if this is the solution for your problem but it is wortht eh try. |

it can be a number of things. are you using boas? it might be a minor comfort issue for your boots as well. i would only change one thing at a time to help narrow down the possiblities.

^ its the lacing system on some boots, there is a dial on the front of your boot and you twist it to tighten the boots instead of traditional lacing

how do your boots fit? does your foot slide around in them at all? i had a similar problem and it was due to my boots being a little too big for me

The boots were a bit snug when I first got them, but they fit pretty well...no slop.

I would try heat molding the boots? although you aid they fit well, something might be irritating your foot? I heat molded my Nike Boots and the discomfort on the outside of my foot got ALOT better.

If you are new to the sport, you could just be putting too much effort into forcing the board to turn with your front foot, thereby fatiguing your foot.
For instance, disregarding your binding/boot setup, you could be just standing too upright while leaning rearwards, which stretches your front foot into a posture similar to high heels. Try turning in that position for 5 minutes and you'll feel the same muscle pain in your foot.

I find it always takes me a few runs to "adjust" to the discomfort of snowboard boots. I recently found out that it's much worse and takes much longer with really stiff boots. I highly suggest stretching and warming up prior to suiting up for boarding. Warm up your ankles and make sure you have good circulation before putting on your boots. That should help a bit. Besides that, i do suggest trying different stances. I personally ride duck 12/-12 with a slight difference when riding my direction camber Vapor (15/-9). I understand you ride alpine but 25 seems like a lot to me. Perhaps the forward lean on your highback is too much too. That would put a lot of pressure on the balls of your feet and would tend to tire out your upper foot muscles more quickly.

Is it your entire foot, or just the pinky toe? Mine is just the pinky toe, going to take the advice from here and reduce the force when strapped in. Did you get your boots fitted, or just buy something that you found?

I used to have front foot pain too and I ride regular. The issue with me was that I over tighten my boots and strap my binding down tight. After watching my friends tie their boots I realized right away why they didn't have the same pain as I did. Good Luck!
Also, at the start of each day when I get to snowboard it takes a couple of runs before I get that nice painless fit so I used to retie my boots at the start of each run until it feels just right. |

Yeah, I ususally get some foot burn from my first 2 runs...but it goes away. I have the boa boots so I'm always adjusting my boot tightness too.
Have you tried feet insoles? |

I'd also recommend other insoles (be sure to get the right ones for your particular arch). You might think the stock insoles are good, but they never are. I just replaced the fancy "mystic" insoles in my salomons for superfeet and they cleared up a big problem I was having with pain in my Achilles tendons.
the other thing could be tightening your binding straps too tight. If you feel having them any less tight feels too sloppy for you, then maybe alternating the position of the straps on the heel hoop might temporarily alleviate some sore spots |

You'll might be over cranking your straps and/or your boots. If loosen one or the other or both doesn't work. Try heat molding your liners.

My foot is also experiencing pains and Im pretty sure its because the boot liner is undergoing major wear and tear. Is the a way to replace the boot liner and not the whole boot? |

I don't know of any place that just sell boot liners. If is Burton, you might be able to get a new pair under their warranty. I doubt it though unless you make up some crazy story, then maybe.
Sounds like you need new boots, if not, try insoles like Superfeet.

Had the same problem myself last season, I tightened my bindings far to much, so my blood almost stopped streaming through my front foot o.o
So try to loosen them a bit :) - P |

Had the same problem. The way out wat not to apply so much force when strapping in the bindings, the foot shall be a little loose. It provides same control over the board but sinificanty reduces pressure points on the feet.

it's most likely a small boot issue... i had that issue when i first used a boot that was not even half a size too small... it was ok when walking, but when i was trying to toe, excruciating pain...

snow boarding should not hurt your feet. any discomfort you are having should not be there. somethings take some adjusting to get perfect... it took me 3-4 full days on the hill to get my set up perfect to my liking... you may just have to make some adjustments... but remember you should have zero foot pain while riding...

I used to experience similar pain while I was new to the sport, for me it was my own doing as I was not relaxing my feet.

I had a similar problem. Front of foot and my toes were sore. Then I just trim my toe nails a bit before riding. Hope this helps =)
