I think the reason both these threads have remianed dormant is possibly because they need more details.
Pretty simple, but often overlooked. So to help you out: 1. Whats your background? How long have you been riding, what have you been riding? 2. If you had a previous board, what didnt you like about it? what are you trying to overcome in yoru new board? 3. What do you enjoy riding? If its less than a couple of years and youre only really riding a few days a year, im going to just assume you dont honestly know the answer to this one yet in which case just a bit of everything is fine as an answer. 4. Where do you live? What kind of conditions do you anticipate on your resort (powder, ice, no slackcountry/trees, lots of slackcountry; flats; steeps etc). 5. Whats your budget? How important is meeting that budget? 6. Who those two boards specifically? There you go, lots to help you narrow down your search :)

Having said that, if youre talking the 2012 fastplant versus the 2010 decoy, and i assume thats what youre talking about, and based ENTIRELY on looking at specs and reading a little about the two...
If you just want a board to play on and have fun with id say the fastplant is WAY more bang for your buck. Its a nice softish flex, got lots of pop, only a small rocker with a flat base, so itll feel loose and fun, but not too squirly, and bamboo core which ive never heard anyone complain about. Seems a fun board. The decoy i would only really pick up if its the kind of board you KNOW you want. Its super stiff, super poppy and pretty much a great board if you WANT that type of board (basically a pipe/big hit board). Its not really for crusing or messing about. Its got a function and will be fun for that function, and not much else. Its a no frills stiff freestyle twin. Pick it up if you like to just bomb groomers or get massive air and super stable landings. But honestly a lot of people (myself included) are going to struggle to enjoy it. However, if youre talking the amptek decoy things get a little more complicated. Amptek is camber from just before the contacts (outside the inserts (the binding holes)) and rocker the rest of teh way. It also comes with magnetraction which means a few contacts Theyre both pretty similar in regard of where they are placing their rocker. Both have it really far up which is great. K2 go with flat camber between the contacts, whilst the decoy goes with camber. On top of this the decoy has magnetraction which means really nice grip. The flex of both boards is pretty different though. The decoy is going to feel a lot stiffer. In summary this means the decoy is going to be a more aggressive and feel a decent bit more stable all round, but the K2 is lighter weight which is going to feel a little more fun, its way softer being a soft-medium flex so its going to be pretty much a cruising board more than a ripping kill it all board. So really thats your summary: K2 fastplant: soft fun, poppy, cruisy type board. Rossi Decoy: super stiff, aggressive freestyle board. Rossi decoy amptek: all mountain aggressive freestyle with some fun tweaks giving you a slightly more fun ride than the previous years decoy. Nonetheless its still going to be pretty stiff. Its not a real jack of all trades, Think of it like a decoy for people who just want an off switch now and again. Predominantly a very aggressive board with a lot of stability and speed, and going to be a blast in truth for someone looking to play in more bumpy sketch terrain, in the pipe or in resort pow, but not really for cruising or buttering so much. ETA: Never base your opinion on one interpretation. Go do some research as well. :)

thanks for the info. It really helped and ive decided to go with the Fastplant! I mean i love every aspect of the mountain and i can ride almost anything but the pipe. so thanks again for the info and the help.
