Have you checked out the burton hero? They have a past model here for a really good price.

You catch edges, it's not the boards fault...

some more info, like where you ride, might help. Like, if it's ice coast, you might wanna go the lib/gnu magnatraction route. Some of the tech that doesn't catch edges can also wash out more on ice
I'm exactly your height and weight. was riding a 154 for the first time a couple days ago and it seemed too small. I don't think I'll be wanting to go under a 157 from now on. |

i would also recommend the hero. its fairly cheap and i had the 2010 model. i heard the newer ones have more pop but that was a really good board until i broke it being stupid.

Get a Signal Park rocker or Stepchild Jibstick and detune the crap out of it...if you catch edges on those things I'll be impressed.

like others are saying, its you, not th board. Detuning the edges meaning removing the contact points from a sharp edge basically fyi |

You know they make catch free rockers now...just teasing.
You need practice. If you want catch free, you want the extremes, Signal Park Rocker or Bataleons. |

It is the rider, not the board. But some tech, might be able to make is easier to stabilize the board, if you catch a edge. I read about it a couple of days ago, but can't seem to find it now.
