Lens died on monday, now fogs up on the inside so seal has gone somewhere. Cant see any damage, but you know...
So time to do what i always threatened to do and pick up a couple of new lenses. My splices have the emerald v50 which is a pretty solid lens for all round conditions (though the straps lost its elasticity a bit - probably should get a new one). So definitely looking for flat light lens. Contemplating the yellow/silver chrome or the yellow/blue chrome. Which one you reckons? Needs to have abit of diversity so it can be used in variable conditions, but definitely could do with a flat light tint on it because i live in powderland.

the chrome coating darkens it noticeably so. a plain yellow is very light, whereas yellow chrome is a lens I wouldn't actually use, but if I did, it would be my medium lens for mostly brighter days. plain yellow or clear is your best bet for a flat light lens, and plain blue is good too. for a good all-around lens that still works pretty well in low light, I really liked orange/silver chrome. for some reason yellow/chrome seemed darker to me, kind of muggy when looking through it if that makes sense.
yellow/blue chrome could be good though. I forget if it's more of a blue tint or an actual blue chrome, but I seem to remember it being less of a full chrome and more of a blue tint on the surface. I have found that color combo to work really well in lower light even if it's not the lightest lens out there.

Not sure I've seen it for EG2, I know they made it for EG1, but clear with chrome is a pretty good all around lense. Not dark obviously, so pretty good for low light, but the chrome helps take away some of the glare and brightness on those sunny days. My brother swears by it.

I've tried a number of lenses on my EG2:
Bronze Silver Chrome (standard) Bronze Gold Chrome (same view as standard) Bronze Red Chrome (same view as standard) Yellow Chrome (I use for overcast and night riding) I also used to have a Giro Root with Gold Boost lenses which were actually really nice for night riding too. ==> Gold Lenses are a yellow/blue tint which is perfect for night riding and storm days. As Spenser said, chrome does darken your vision by quite a bit but the Yellow Chrome and Yellow/Blue chrome I tried were fine for night riding and super cloudy days... but I do find myself wishing for a clear lens sometimes. What I do now is have Bronze Red Chrome for bright days, and then my Yellow Chrome for everything else. 2 separate EG2 goggles so I don't have to swap out the lenses. If I could switch to clear now, I probably would. EDIT: The chrome on night lenses are not nearly as prominent as they are on the standard Bronze ____ chrome lenses. You would still be able to see your eyes through the lens under direct light.
