no im talking about the bindings... they are junk. upgrade yourself to something more responsive. i rode the freestyles for 3 years, bolted a pair of nitro raidens up to my board my friend had laying around and its like night and day... and the length of your carves will shorten with experience. your carves arent as tight because your still learning how to control the board once you start to feel more comfortable you will have nice and tight carves. im still at the beginner to intermediate stage as well, but i have been noticing that they are getting tighter as ive gotten more comfortable on my board, and my skills have progressed.

^O sorry I mess up. I don't know what I was thinking. You had the right size. 155-158 range.
Waist width about at least 252mm. Is okay to have about 1.5 inch of overhang on each edge. Check this out if you haven't so yet; http://www.trusnow.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=40125&PID=864418 In the SideCut Depth section: "If you want stability on long grand arcs, you want a very shallow side-cut. If you want faster sharper turns, you go for a deeper sidecut. There we go. Nice long stable turns is shallow, fast quick sharp turns you go deep." Since you're on groomers mostly, camber boards will probably be more beneficial. Narrow down your choices by boards with deeper sidecut and go from there. Have fun shopping.

@2zz you think a 154 cm board for me? I know that this is a well covered and debated topic I always heard it has to come up to your chin, but after doing some research I've heard it comes more down to weight. Also my boot overhung my aftermath a good 2 inches I didn't know if this was normal or not.
@AJD13 Lose the bindings? or the freestyle type boards? I liked the stability of the aftermath at higher speeds but didn't like how wide I had to carve if that makes sense. Thanks for all the help I really do appreciate it! |

okay one... lose the freestyles... two burton isnt everything open your self up to what the world of snowboarding has to offer... burton makes nice sticks but there are other companies. And what did you like about your aftermath and what didnt you like? that will help point us point you in a better direction as well... personally i like the ride manic... its going to be the next addition to my quiver... and im not one for the park either i think it will be a great all mountain stick.

Depending on board, you most likely don't need to go wide. Size wise though, 154ish will be better.
Burton Clash, Bullet, Twin, etc I'll suggest camber board for new riders to learn edge control. |

Hi I'm a beginner rider 5'11" 155 lbs 11.5 boot looking for a suitable board just to ride at resorts mainly groomed courses not really looking to go to the park just yet. I had a burton aftermath 158cm that just cracked to the core ( had to have been a manufacturer defect ) that I'm returning. I was hoping I could get some suggestions as to which board I should buy preferably burton. I have the burton 2013 freestyle bindings and dc phase 2013 boots. It seems as I need a mid wide board but I really cant afford paying more than 300-350ish for a board. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
