Hi guys,
I've just mounted my 2011 Raiden Zeroes size L on my new board (sims switchblade, 157w, waist width is about 255mm which is pretty damn small for wide version; width where the inserts are is about 265mm). The Raiden mini disc system gave me a hard time adjusting the bindings in order to have equal heel and toe overhang. Now it should be about right, whereas I still have 1cm more toe than heel overhang. However, the whole overhang issue seems to be pretty serious in this case..... Now I kinda worry about not being able to ride my new board! What do you think? My boots are US size 12 (mondo 29,5cm; outside length is about 33cm) and my angles are 18/-9. Greetings from Germany
PS: Here are the pictures:

I don't like the plastic toe-piece (gas pedal in the Burton parlance) overhang and would consider moving that back in a notch to get the full baseplate over the deck. (I'm not familiar with these bindings but it looks like you have some room to play with). I can't really tell whether you've centered your boots from the pics but it seems like it, honestly I usually have more problem bumping my heelcup than anything else so I usually shift a screw-hole toward toeside like it appears you've done here. As you're playing with your bindings, don't underestimate the potential effect of both widening your stance and/or adjusting your angles a few degrees out, both can play a major role in getting your dogs tucked back over your board. Good luck

Looks improved. If there's any problem with your heelcup position you'll notice it as a washing-out-type issue on heelside carves when you get perpendicular to the fall line, and that is what would be corrected by moving forward. Hopefully that doesn't happen. Enjoy yer shred!

I got overhang on both of my toes and heels. I don't have any problems with it, as I think every rider got their own perfect balance on each board! People can call it for rubish what I just say, but that is how I feel about my gear when snowboarding :)

It seems like your toe ramp is extended too far out. The toe ramp doesn't need to be right under your toes. It'll be fine at somewhere between the ball of your foot and toes.
By readjusting (shorten it) your toe ramp, your overhang will be fine with the setup you have on the first post. Also after the readjustments, strap in and see if you're centered on the board by lifting the toe and heel edge to see if the effort needed to lift both edges to a certain height is equal or close to it. |

Thanks! I'll see what I can do about the toe ramp!
I guess, I'll just have to play around with the setup this weekend. I'm glad none of you guys has considered the overhang to be too bad to ride the board yet! The problem with the first setup was, that even after having shortened the toe ramp as much as possible, I still had it hanging over the edge of my right binding, as it still added about an inch in length. You can see that pretty well in the second picture of the first setup where the actual base of the binding almost touches the edge. If one added even as little as one inch, we would have overhang. That's why I think I'll have to go with the second setup despite the fact that I liked the first one more as it seemed to be centered better on the board! |

you're from germany? deutsch?
anyways IIRC arent raiden binders possible to change the heel loop forward to backwards? might help on the centering thing? |

Update: Everything is still working out fairly well. However, Nitro's new mini disc system pissed me off to an extent where I've decided to sell the Zeroes and get me a pair cartels instead.
Furthermore, I didn't like the heelcup since it had very limited adjustment options. |
