Snowboarding chip on nose help.

So I have a hopefully easy question. I got a new board and took it out for its first run upon bringing it home and cleaning it off and such I noticed a small nick or chip in the nose end of the board about 1/3 or 1/2 Inch long going from the edge down it barely hits and has indented the metal layer is this something I need to get fixed immediately before continued use? Or is this kinda stuff to be expected on both tail an nose side? I can post a pic if someone explains how I've never posted on one of these before so not sure how to. Thanks.

That's pretty minor, the only thing I would do is file the topsheet edge to help reduce the chances of getting dinged up, here's a thread on how to do it:

Thanks ctoma. That's a great suggestion. I also go a lot of nicks on the edges after my first day out.

thanks for all the replies guys i really appreciate it. and yeah i figured it was minor i just heard a lot of  people saying if it goes to the base it was in need of being repaired and as you can see from the pic it touched the metal a tad and wasnt sure if that was what they were referring to being "deep". also while i have people replying...the first time i took it out was yesterday after bringing it home and checking out the bottom i noticed the edges are kinda white like scuff marks and such. is that a normal sign? or is that a sign that the stock wax on it is crap and i need to get a professional wax on it? its primarily just around the edging of the board though. 

even if its minor white scuffs on the edge? like i said its only been rode once so far haha.

alright appreciate all the help. the white marks on it arent to bad but noticeable so ill probably give it a few more runs and then wax it next week before i go on my snowboarding trip. :)
