Hi guys,
I'm currently looking for a new binding. My local shop has some pretty nice bindings on sale, so I've already narrowed down my choices to the following three: 1. Burton Cartel '13 (188€) 2. Ride Capo '13 (174€) 3. Burton Cartel Regional Love Austria '13 (188€) I ride about 85% all mountain and only 15% park. My board is rather a stiff one ( 11/12 sims switchblade). The guys at the shop told me that all three bindings should fit the board and my style of riding and the rest would come down to personal preference. I must admit, that the regional love austria ones might not be the best looking bindings. However, they're still kinda cool and I've heard that this year's cartel regional love release is basically a prelease of next year's cartel. Did anybody of you have a chance to ride both the cartel and the capo? How do they compare in terms of flex, response, durability, comfort etc? Which one would you guys prefer? |

wow thats some expensive pricing in Austraila, too bad for you guys. I personal had the 2012 cartel last yr. A good all purpose binding although l rarely go park. I find the flex to be medium/stiff which l do like myself, great response. I sold it after 1yr so l'm not 100% sure on durability but nothing broke? Comfort, its fully padded, felt great compare to my older freestyle binding, great rachet too. No problem with the toe cap also

thx for the info! The toe cap on the cartel looks pretty solid whereas I heard that the ride 3D thingrip toe strap is more likely to break.
However, I've recently read a review on the '13 cartel that pointed it out to be softer than the '12 version. That's what makes me wonder if this year's cartel is still that much of an all-mountain machine or if it's become a more park-oriented binding. |

imo, anything with re:flex is more of a park oriented binding. Re:flex is good for what it is, but it's not as responsive as a solid baseplate/disk.
