Hey. I was wondering if i should get a wide board or a normal. I wear a 12-13 boot. IF I increase the angle then will my foot fit or is it just too big? Also Ive never had a wide board so is it true that they are hard to carve with?

It mostly depends on the board, and your stance - on all your questions.
size 12-13 sounds pretty big - but it also depends on how big of a board you're riding. If you're riding a bigger board to begin with, you might not need to go with a wide. Again, depends on the model.
You can also get risers that fit under your bindings, to pick your foot up off the board a little bit, and reduce drag in tight carves. I know there's a few kats here that can tell you more about 'em.
I would not recommend tweaking your stance just so your feet fit on the board. Your stance should be based on what's comfortable for you, and what gives you the best control/comfort - not based on what fits on your board.

The Ride Fleetwood available in 155 (waist width: 262) and 158 (waist width: 265) should be fine for a size 12 foot.
Item #: R06014
The Ride Kink available in 152 (waist width: 252) and 156 (waist width: 255) seem too narrow to be able to fit your sized foot. Item #: R06013
The GNU Carbon High Beam which is available in 143 (waist width: 235) is definitely too narrow for your feet. If you wanted this board I'd recommend any of the wide versions of this board (157W, 161W, 164W, 167W) which are not in stock at SierraSnowboard.com Item #: 611_1
You should be able to get a snowboard with a minimum waist width of 259 but I'd definitely check up on that just to make sure, so you don't get toe/heel drag. Those elevators that Sinixstar do help toe/heel drag but I'm not sure how much narrower of a board you can go when using those. To sum it all up, I would go for the Ride Fleetwood. |
