Altitude is the word for late March. Kirkwood, the upper part of Squaw or Heavenly, or Mt. Rose. Shirley Lake at Squaw valley is the run to be on for spring conditions if you go there. The Nevada side at Heavenly is a more northerly exposure than the Cali side and tends to hold the snow better. Lift 4 (Sunrise) on the backside has a higher base than the frontside lifts at Kirkwood. Mt. Rose... ski/ride the Slide side in the morning before it gets slushy and switch to the Mt. Rose side in the late morn/early afternoon.
