Any recommendations on brands and types
Is it worth it to match temperature and have 2 or 3 different waxes and have to predict the weather or does the all weather work pretty well
Lastly whats the difference between hydrocarbon and flourinated wax and which is better
And no recommending the bluebird wax that smells like poo i saw that thread

Unless you're a racer, I doubt you'd benefit from have cold weather wax. One way or another, if you're on good snow, you're going to glide. I use all temp Toko wax right now. Seems good, but I haven't used enough other ones to really comment on it. Probably try Swix next time around or OBJ. You might want however to invest in some warm weather wax... slushy, sticky snow is not fun in flats. But again, unless you race I don't think you need anything more than all-temp and warm weather. |

Does anyone know where I can buy BlueBird Wax?
Also, how does Bluebird compare to other brands?

I use oneballjay wax. I usually just stock up at the end of the season as a lost of places have it dirt cheap.
I'll be honest, I prefer it because it smells nice. Even after a day of riding I can smell my base and tell it's still got wax on it. I don't really use cold weather wax, but I am a big fan of warm weather wax and I also have their Black Magik graphite wax I use as an additive if the snow is really sticky. It turns your base kinda black, but it adds noticeable speed in the super-grabby snow. |

I use Bakoda cause its cheap and works alright. Toko costs the same for no added benefit.
Swix is good but a little costly. One Ball Jay I liked, easy to spread. It wasn't that effective though and too much for my blood. Bluebird is amazing, they don't stock it much around here, but it really is the best. Also it isn't slowly poisoning you when you breathe it in. Scrape this shiz when its still warm though or you will be scraping all night. |

Toko All Temp wax. Got a kilo (4 x 250 g. bars) of it from ebay for dirt cheap. And it's all I need for waxing (hot scraping, protective wax).
I haven't used any other brands so I can't compare but Toko has a very high reputation. |

SWIX - the best hands down.
I've used DaKine, Toko and One Ball but neither of them have been as fast. The Toko is close, but the Swix, it's worth double the price. |
