I went to Do It Center (hardware store) to get a brush for waxing my board & the only ones they had were basically toilet scrubber/ nail brushes (and not the big toilet scrubber ones, just the little squatre handsized ones). i dont even know what material it was made of. but would that work? it'd be nice because they cost about $1 each.

COuld you post a pick? I have seen a lot of people get away with other brushes that are made out of nylon, but not for snowboarding. I think it is safe to say that anything nylon for a brush won't damage the base structure, and should expose it well.

Just make sure it has a good stiffness to it. If it's like a toothbrush - you're gonna be rubbin away for a long time to get any wax off.
Typically want something with short bristles - 1/2in maybe? In many tight compact groupings. This helps give it stiffness so you don't have to work as hard.
Other then that, doesn't really matter. Nylon is Nylon...

I imagine that should generally work fine.
it's nylon, it's a brush, it's the right shape....
