Experience:   I needed to let people know that this is the best thing to happen to kids boards in a LONG time. My daughter (just turned 5) has been trying to learn on an older chicklet which was wider (too wide), stiffer (too stiff), and cambered (too catchy) and had reached a point where she hit a wall w/ her progression. She didn't want to go toe side and was complaining about the straps hurting the tops of her feet. She also did a couple of good face plants after catching the toe edge once she started to go a little faster on her heel side. From my experience I figured that the toe side strap pain probably had to do w/ the board being too wide. She was also getting a little spooked by catching her toes and planting her face in the ground one too many times so I figured the upturned edges and lack of camber couldn't hurt. I decided to purchase this board even though the Chicklet she had is only a few years old. This one is such a step forward! Burton has really done their homework on this one. The flex is soft, the deck is very light, the width is appropriate. She now has a little toe overhang like she should despite her size 1 boot (she's riding a 101cm). The board is the perfect length for her and she loves it. We made more progress last night in two hours than we have made in the last 3 days out (two hours each day). I'm super excited. She made her first toe side to heel side turns last night all on her own and is real close to going heel to toe. Once that is accomplished, the battle is over and she'll progress quickly. My son is now 7 and can ride anywhere w/ me no matter how steep, etc. He's not as fast (obviously), but very capable. My only regret w/ this board is that I didn't buy this at the start of the season. It has already proven to be worth every penny. Do not hesitate. This is w/out a doubt the BEST CHILDREN's BOARD AVAILABLE.
