Have you heard about Jeremy Jones, the pro snowboarder?
Yes?
I guess most anyone who’s watched a snowboard movie in the last 10 years probably has.
But did you know there are actually two of them — two very different riders, both at the top of their game right now?
Yeah, maybe you knew that too.
OK, but did you know that there’s another Jeremy Jones out there who’s even more radical than the other two?
That’s right, you didn’t! Prepare to be educated.

If you’ve seen any TGR films in the last 10 years or so, you’ll definitely remember this Jeremy Jones. (Hint: He’s the guy who makes riding insanely steep Alaskan spines look like a walk in the park.)
Don’t expect to see this Jeremy Jones hitting rails or doing tricks in the terrain park (that’s the rider below). Instead, look for him hiking or split-boarding up into gnarly terrain on a quest to bring snowboarding fans his next film project, “Deeper” — a collaboration between Jeremy and TGR, featuring top freeriders including Jonaven Moore, Travis Rice and Xavier De La Rue who travel to remote ranges around the world as they attempt to push Big Mountain Riding to the next level. (Watch the trailer here: www.tetongravity.com/deeper/)
This Jeremy Jones is regularly voted Best Big Mountain Rider in just about every snowboard industry poll around, and he has shown no sign of slowing down. He even walked away from his sponsorship deal with Rossignol snowboards last year to start his own company, Jones Snowboards.
Check out a short video on ESPN that sums up this Jeremy Jones' recent evolution as a rider.

“From___ With Love” - Mack Dawg Productions
“Jibbing with Jeremy Jones” - Mack Dawg Productions
“That’s it, That’s All” - Brain Farm Productions
“It’s Always Snowing Somewhere” - Burton
“The B” - Burton, coming soon
Hobbies: Motorcycles, Playing with his family, Camping,
Other: He’s a down-to-earth guy who’s not afraid to put his wife on the homepage of his website with this quote: “Everybody knows Jeremy’s an amazing snowboarder… and yes it’s true that he’s true to himself and his values, and yes it’s true that he’s real and sincere, and yes it’s true that he’s the most creative person and the hardest worker on the planet. But what people don’t know, is that Jeremy is also a professional housewife…”
If you’ve witnessed the progression of jibbing over the last 10 years, chances are you’ve seen this Jeremy Jones at the forefront of a lot of it. By all accounts, this Jeremy Jones is one of the hardest working freestyle riders out there — willing to hit a difficult rail all night in order to get it dialed.
A core member of Burton’s team for the last several years (he was riding for Forum before that), Tahoe riders may get the chance to see this Jeremy Jones sessioning the park at Northstar-at-Tahoe (which sponsors him as well).
Jones has put in a lot of work with Burton making sure his pro models are exactly what he wants them to be, from performance to graphics.
Check out his bio page on the Burton site and his blog on the Burton site for the latest on what the jibbing Jeremy Jones is up to now. And check out his pro model snowboard in the SierraSnowboard marketplace.

I’m sure you’ll agree that this Jeremy Jones shreds harder than either of the two mentioned above, even if he’s never actually been on a snowboard. But seriously, check out this guy’s bio from the O’Reilly Publishing website.
The best quote: “His weapon of choice is Python…”
Seriously, how are you going to mess with this guy?
From the O’Reilly Publishing site:
Jeremy Jones is a software engineer/system administrator who works for Predictix. His weapon of choice is Python but he has done plenty of shell and Perl and a touch of Java.
He is the author of the open source projects Munkware, a multiproducer/multiconsumer, transactional, and persistent queuing mechanism, ediplex, an EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) parsing engine, and podgrabber a podcast downloader. All three projects were written in the Python language.
Jeremy spends his spare time enjoying his family and doing a little writing. He lives in Conyers, Georgia, just east of Atlanta, with his wife, Debra and his two children, Zane and Justus.
1) There’s a Jeremy Jones running for congress in Georgia in 2010
Best quote from his website: “First and foremost, you must understand, I am a Conservative. I am pro-life, and I am pro-gun rights. What else would you expect from a Republican candidate in Georgia!”
2) There’s a Jeremy Jones who’s a jazz drummer.
Best quote from his website: “Jeremy is shredding his drum kit like a samurai, using weapons that range from shakers to bells to mallets to the butte end of his own drumsticks. I have never seen a man play jazz drums with more intensity.” – Colorado Music Buzz Magazine, March 2007
