On Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, Sierra Snowboard staff and community members met up at one of Tahoe City’s best music venues, Lakeside, for a GrassRoots United fundraiser benefiting relief efforts in Haiti after the devastating earthquake.
TagTeam for Haiti, as the fundraiser/party was called, featured DJ teams The Get Loose Crew and Bass Heavy spinning beats and raising cash for GrassRoots United’s Haiti relief efforts.
Sierra Snowboard was well represented with Doug Fagel, Phil Wiles and Paul Raymore from the staff on hand, and two brand new Sierra boards – a Sierra Crew and Sierra V Spot – on stage as the grand prizes in the night’s raffle.
Sierra Snowboard community members in the Tahoe area this Thursday, Feb. 11, should plan to stop by the next GrassRoots United benefit, “Red Hot for Haiti,” at Truckee’s FiftyFifty Brewing Company:
Join GrassRoots United in a special pre-Valentines Day event - Red Hot for Haiti. With live musical guests Horsemouth filling your ears with rock-reggae-hiphop sounds, and the great beers of FiftyFifty Brewing Co on tap, this is going to be an epic night of charity and fun. Only a $5 donation cover, all proceeds of which go to GrassRoots United teams already hard at work in Haiti, where earthquakes have caused massive damage and major emergency medical needs.
Show your support for a great cause, wear RED tonight, and pick up some Raffle tickets for awesome prizes, check out hot items at the Silent Auction, and bid to win for a great cause!
About GrassRoots United:
GrassRoots United is here to help connect grassroots organizations together, because together we can do more. Our group exists because of a recognized need: to streamline the process of donating and collecting resources for providing immediate relief to disaster situations. We ourselves are not a Non-profit 501(c)3 entity, we are here to help garner donations for a community of such non-profit organizations, including Burners without Borders, Mano con Alas, Tsunami Volunteer Center and more. GrassRoots United is the connection between good people and the way to get work done.
